Devonshire Devil

The body of a young girl, Eleanor Tow, has been found in Hamptonshire, England. A week before her death, she was last seen near the village of Walkerley, by a lake with strange footprints. They were deeply imprinted in the ground and did not look like the footprints of any beast or man. The legend of the Devonshire Devil, which originated in South Devon, spread throughout the village. The murder is being investigated by Sir Valentine Attwood, a doctor of psychology and a member of the Royal Society of London, as well as his friend, Inspector Scotland Yard, Sir Galen Gilmore.
