Dimensions of semiosis

The monograph highlights the core issues of semiotics - the science of the action of signs. The status of semiotics in the scientific discourse, the dynamics of the development of dominant views, and the philosophical foundations of sign-making processes have been established. Basic categories for the classification of signs and sign systems and the identification of areas of semiotics are proposed. Special attention is paid to the concept of semiosis, the author's interpretation of its dimensions is described, and the potential of using semiotic approaches in linguistics and translation studies is revealed. The book also contains translations into Ukrainian of a number of articles by the American philosopher Charles Pierce with translation comments. The book will find its reader among a wide range of humanitarians, students and post-graduate students in the field of knowledge "Humanities", among everyone who is interested in how the action of signs ensures a dialogue between man and the world.
